# High-value order alerts

> Flag big orders in the Orders list and get an email when one is paid

High-value order alerts flags big orders in the Orders list and emails you when one is paid, so you can check it before shipping.

**Shows in:** Orders list and email

## Turn it on

1. Go to **WooCommerce → Powerups** and click **Configure** on **High-value order alerts**.
2. Set the amount and recipients, click **Save changes**, and switch the power-up on.

## Settings

| Setting | Default | What it does |
| - | - | - |
| **Orders from** | 500 | Order total, including tax and shipping, in your store currency. |
| **Highlight in the Orders list** | On | Adds a **High value** badge next to the order number. |
| **Email when paid** | Empty | Comma-separated addresses. Empty sends to the site admin email. |

## The badge

The **High value** badge shows next to the order number in the Orders list for everyone who can see the list, including staff who only have access to orders.

</Frame>

## The email

* One email is sent when the order is paid (Processing or Completed). An order note records it.
* It's never sent twice for the same order, even when the payment gateway and the shopper's return arrive at the same time.
* Change its subject, heading, wording or switch it off in **WooCommerce → Settings → Emails → High-value order**.
* It shows in the [Email log](/admin-powerups/email-log) and can be resent from there.

## Data

| Item | What it is |
| - | - |
| **Settings** | This power-up's saved settings. |
| **Email wording** | Subject, heading and on/off for the High-value order email. |
| **Alert sent markers** | Marks orders whose alert went out, so it isn't sent twice. Deleting them lets a paid order alert again if its status changes. |
| **Alert locks** | Short-lived rows that stop two requests sending the same alert. One left by a request that stopped half way expires after 2 minutes. |

## Known limitations

* Orders in another currency (from multi-currency plugins) aren't flagged unless a developer converts them with the `apwc_high_value_order` filter.
