Requirements

Tested up to WordPress 7.1 and WooCommerce 11.0. It supports High-Performance Order Storage and works with both the classic and block-based cart and checkout. WooCommerce Subscriptions is optional. With it, presets can contain subscription products, and a preset’s discount applies to every payment. Pro can also limit the discount to the first few payments and waive the sign-up fee. See Subscriptions.

Installing the free version

Search for CartPresets for WooCommerce under Plugins → Add New Plugin, install, and activate. Or download the zip and upload it under Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.

Installing Pro

Pro ships as a separate zip from your purchase email or account area. It installs as CartPresets for WooCommerce Pro, in the folder cartpresets-for-woocommerce-pro.

Deactivate and delete the free version, if you have it

Your presets and settings live in the database, not in the plugin folder, so deleting the free version doesn’t touch them. Before you delete, check Settings → Data management → Delete on uninstall has nothing ticked. Those options are off unless you turned them on.

Upload the Pro zip

Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin, choose the zip, install, activate.

Activate your licence

Cart Presets → Settings. The Licence card is at the top: paste the key from your purchase email and click Activate. If the key isn’t linked to an account yet, it asks first and shows the name and email it will send. See Licence and updates.
Run one version at a time. If one is already active, activating the other is refused with a message naming both. If both do end up active, the second to load stands down and says so, so two copies never write to the same tables.

What activation does

Activation creates four database tables, each with your site’s table prefix: It also registers the /preset/ rewrite rule and flushes permalinks once. On a first activation it stores the shipped default for every setting. A store that already has settings keeps them untouched, whether that’s a reinstall or a switch between versions. The carrier product isn’t created at activation. When you need one, Settings → Carrier product offers Create carrier product or lets you choose a product you already have.

Moving between versions

Both versions read and write the same tables, so switching either way migrates nothing and loses nothing. Free to Pro. Your existing presets are untouched. Any Pro setting you couldn’t reach before is still at its default, ready to set. Pro to free. Your presets, items and settings stay exactly as they are. The Pro controls are locked and tagged Pro, and your stored answers stay on the record. Reinstall Pro and they apply again, with nothing to set up. Two things stop applying on the free version:
  • An automatic coupon isn’t applied. A discount you can’t see or switch off would go on discounting orders.
  • Custom items aren’t added to the cart. They stay with the preset and come back if you upgrade. The editor marks them Not added on the free version, and the listing and editor totals leave them out.
A schedule already set and a cap already filled are still honoured. Those switch a link off, and moving to the free version shouldn’t put a link back on sale that your own schedule or cap had stopped.

Uninstalling

Deleting the plugin removes nothing by default: not your presets, not your settings, not the carrier product. Each category has its own opt-in switch under Settings → Data management. See Data and uninstall.
