Questions
Does a power-up change anything before I switch it on?
Does a power-up change anything before I switch it on?
No. Every power-up is off until you switch it on under WooCommerce → Powerups. You can change its settings while it’s off; they apply once it’s on.
What happens to my data if I turn a power-up off or delete the plugin?
What happens to my data if I turn a power-up off or delete the plugin?
Turning a power-up off keeps its settings and data. Each power-up’s page has a Data section where you can delete what it stores. Deleting the plugin removes its settings and data unless you switch on Keep data if the plugin is deleted in the System card. Customer accounts, saved addresses, order statuses and order notes are part of your store and always stay. See Data and uninstall.
Why doesn't Accounts for guest orders add orders to an account that already has the same email?
Why doesn't Accounts for guest orders add orders to an account that already has the same email?
WooCommerce doesn’t check that people own the email they sign up with, so linking by email could show one customer’s orders to someone else. Automatic conversion leaves those orders as guest orders and adds a note. If you trust how accounts get created on your store, the Convert past orders tool can link them when you turn on Use an existing account with the same email.
What are the requirements?
What are the requirements?
WordPress 6.7 or newer, PHP 8.1 or newer and WooCommerce 9.9 or newer. A few power-ups need more, such as High-performance order storage for Advanced order search. See Requirements.
What happens if my host moves the site to an older PHP version?
What happens if my host moves the site to an older PHP version?
The plugin needs PHP 8.1 or newer. On an older version it stops loading, and administrators who can manage plugins see a notice: “Admin Powerups for WooCommerce needs PHP 8.1 or newer.” Your settings and data are kept, and the power-ups work again once the site is back on PHP 8.1 or newer. Deleting the plugin while the site runs the older PHP leaves its data in place.
Who can change the settings?
Who can change the settings?
Anyone who can manage WooCommerce, including shop managers. That includes security-related settings such as the checkout blocklist, which roles staff can switch to, and who can reveal masked order meta.
Does it work on multisite?
Does it work on multisite?
Yes. Each site has its own power-ups and settings. Some features that change user accounts, such as Switch to customer and the save-address buttons, are usually limited to super admins on multisite, because WordPress only lets them edit network users.
Can I use it with the User Switching plugin?
Can I use it with the User Switching plugin?
Use one or the other. While User Switching is active, Switch to customer stays off.
Does the Email log replace an SMTP plugin?
Does the Email log replace an SMTP plugin?
No. It logs WooCommerce emails only and doesn’t send or log other site email.
Troubleshooting
A power-up won’t switch on
It tells you why. The usual reasons:- Advanced order search needs High-performance order storage. Turn it on in WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Features.
- Switch to customer stays off while the User Switching plugin is active.
A notice says the plugin needs a newer PHP or WooCommerce
“Admin Powerups for WooCommerce needs PHP 8.1 or newer.” means the site runs an older PHP version. Ask your host to move it to PHP 8.1 or newer. “Admin Powerups for WooCommerce needs WooCommerce 9.9 or newer to be active.” means WooCommerce is missing, inactive or too old. Update or activate WooCommerce. Until then no power-up runs, and your settings stay as they are. See If PHP or WooCommerce drops below the minimum.Waits and scheduled tasks run late
Check Background jobs in the sidebar’s System card. If it says jobs are overdue or WP-Cron is off, ask your host to run a server cron every minute. This affects Wait before completing in Autocomplete orders, the wait in Accounts for guest orders, and the daily clean-ups. See Background jobs. The Checkout blocklist doesn’t block an IP address shown on the order
The blocklist checks the address connecting to your site. Behind a proxy or CDN such as Cloudflare, that’s the proxy’s address, while WooCommerce shows the shopper’s address from forwarded headers. A developer can pass the real address with theapwc_blocklist_ip filter. Don’t block the proxy’s address: that blocks everyone.
A product or SKU search in the Orders list is slow
Those searches use WooCommerce Analytics’ order-product lookup table. If Analytics is off or your order history was never imported, they read every order’s items. Import history in WooCommerce → Analytics → Settings. See Performance.A new order doesn’t show up in a SKU or product customer search
The order-product lookup table updates in the background. Give it a moment and search again.I don’t see the Save to customer profile button or Switch to link
They only show for staff who can edit that customer’s account. On multisite that’s usually super admins only. The save button also needs the order to be linked to a customer account. The thank-you preview says “Preview unavailable”
Preview links expire after about a day and only work for the person who opened them. Open the preview again from the order page.Settings look reset to defaults
If saved settings are in an unexpected shape (from an older version, another plugin or a manual database edit), the power-up shows its defaults instead of breaking the settings form. Check the settings and save them again.Getting help
