Holiday mode pauses orders while you’re away. Shoppers can still browse, and a banner tells them when you’re back. Shows in: Store and checkout

Turn it on

  1. Go to WooCommerce → Powerups and click Configure on Holiday mode.
  2. Pick a mode and, if you like, dates. Click Save changes.
  3. Switch the power-up on. Without dates, the store pauses straight away and stays paused until you switch it off.

Settings

Dates use the store’s time zone. The Until day is closed all day.

The date placeholder

{date} becomes “on” plus the day you’re back (the day after Until), for example “on 28 December 2027”. Without an Until date it becomes “soon”.

Status

The settings show a status line. While the power-up is off, it reads “The store stays open while this power-up is off.” Once it’s on, you’ll see one of these:
  • “On now: orders are paused until …” or ”… until you switch it off.”
  • “Starts on …. The store is open until then.”
  • “Ended on …. The store is open.”
  • “The Until date is before From, so the store never closes. Fix the dates.”

What shoppers see

  • Pause checkout: the cart still works. Placing the order is refused with your message.
  • Pause purchases: product pages and the shop show no Add to cart button, including for products already in a cart. Items already in carts stay there for later, without errors. Checkout and “Pay for order” are refused.
Staff can still create orders in the admin.
