Requirements

  • WordPress 6.7 or newer
  • PHP 8.1 or newer
  • WooCommerce 9.9 or newer
A few power-ups need more:
  • Advanced order search needs WooCommerce’s High-performance order storage.
  • Advanced customer search needs High-performance order storage for its order, product, spend and date searches.
  • Analytics order filters needs WooCommerce Analytics on.
You can turn on High-performance order storage in WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Features.

If PHP or WooCommerce drops below the minimum

WordPress won’t activate the plugin on PHP older than 8.1. If your host later moves the site to an older PHP version, the plugin stops loading and administrators who can manage plugins see this notice:
Admin Powerups for WooCommerce needs PHP 8.1 or newer.
Your settings and data are kept, and the power-ups work again once the site is back on PHP 8.1 or newer. Deleting the plugin while the site runs the older PHP leaves its data in place. While WooCommerce is missing or older than 9.9, wp-admin shows “Admin Powerups for WooCommerce needs WooCommerce 9.9 or newer to be active.” and no power-up runs. Background jobs that power-ups had already scheduled stay in the queue, and Action Scheduler may mark them as failed. The plugin’s settings also stop loading on every page. Once WooCommerce is back, they load again on the next request, and the first wp-admin visit by a shop manager or admin sets up the switched-on power-ups’ tables and jobs again.

Install

1

Add the plugin

In wp-admin, go to Plugins → Add New, search for “Admin Powerups for WooCommerce”, then click Install Now and Activate.
2

Open the Powerups screen

Go to WooCommerce → Powerups. Every power-up is listed, and every one starts off.
3

Switch one on

Use the switch on a power-up’s row. It takes effect straight away.
4

Adjust its settings

Click Configure to open the power-up’s page, change what you need, and click Save changes.

The Powerups screen

WooCommerce → Powerups lists every power-up with a short description and an on/off switch.
  • Search power-ups: type to filter the list. Press / to jump to the search box.
  • Status: show All, only On, or only Off.
  • Category: chips for Orders, Customers, Emails and Store operations. Site admins also get Developer and Performance.
  • Clear filters resets the search and filters.
When some power-ups are on, their row also gets a direct link to the tab you’ll open most:

A power-up’s page

Click Configure on any row to open its page. The header says where the power-up shows up (“Shows in”).
  • Settings tab: the power-up’s options. Click Save changes to save.
  • Tool tabs: some power-ups add a tab, such as Convert past orders or Check and apply. Tool tabs need the power-up to be on.
  • Data section: under the settings, what the power-up stores and how to delete it. See Data and uninstall.
A power-up with no options says Nothing to set up on its Settings tab. It points to its tool tab (for example “Use the Webhooks tab.”) or, if it has none, says “It works while it’s on.”
Settings work while a power-up is off. You’ll see “This power-up is off. Your settings will apply once it’s on.” Set it up first, then switch it on.

Picking products, categories and customers

Fields that pick products, categories, tags or customers work the same everywhere:
  • Type to search. Products can be found by name, SKU or ID.
  • Use the arrow keys and Enter to pick.
  • Backspace removes the last pick; click × to remove any.

Warnings and “Slower” badges

An amber warning or a Slower badge on a setting means the choice works but can slow a screen on stores with many orders or customers. See Performance.

Light and dark mode

The Powerups screen has a light, dark and system theme. Your choice is saved for your user only.

On phones

The Powerups screen works on a phone. Wide tool tables (Quick stock, Scheduled action monitor, Cron inspector and Autoloaded options) stack each row into a block instead of scrolling sideways. Email recipients & attachments shows each email as a block with its To, Cc and Bcc lines.

The sidebar

  • Support: ask on the WordPress.org forum. Threads are public, so leave out customer details. Ask a question opens the forum and Documentation opens these docs.
  • System: your WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP versions, order storage, how many power-ups are on, and background jobs. Copy for support copies this so you can paste it into a forum thread.
  • Enjoying it?: links to leave a review or report a bug.
The line at the bottom of the sidebar shows the plugin version, for example “Admin Powerups 1.0.0 by SmartWP Plugins.”

The System card is checked once and saved. It shows when it was last checked (“Checked … ago”). Click the refresh icon to check everything again. The System card also has Keep data if the plugin is deleted. See Data and uninstall.

Background jobs

Some power-ups run jobs in the background with WooCommerce’s scheduler: the wait in Accounts for guest orders, Wait before completing in Autocomplete orders, and daily clean-ups. The Background jobs line tells you if they run on time: You can see the jobs under WooCommerce → Status → Scheduled Actions, in the group admin-powerups.

Who can use it

Anyone who can manage WooCommerce, including shop managers, can switch power-ups on and off and change their settings. That includes settings that matter for security, like the checkout blocklist, which roles staff can switch to, and who can reveal masked order meta. The Developer and Performance power-ups are the exception: only site admins can see and use them. Some actions also check the specific permission they need. For example, saving an address to a customer or switching to a customer needs permission to edit that user.

Multisite

On multisite, each site has its own power-ups and settings. Switch them on per site.

After an update

After a plugin update, the first wp-admin visit by a shop manager or admin finishes the update. It sets up the tables and scheduled jobs of the power-ups you have switched on.

If a power-up can’t turn on

If something the power-up needs is missing, it stays off and tells you why. For example, Advanced order search asks you to turn on High-performance order storage, and Switch to customer stays off while the User Switching plugin is active.
